Primary Care
General Practitioner Munich

Personal Care and Individualized Treatment
Whether for an acute illness or chronic complaints – as a general practice, we offer comprehensive care for the entire family. We often look after our patients for many years, allowing us to know their medical history as well as their social and family environment. This extensive care enables us to better assess symptoms and illnesses, which in turn allows for targeted treatment tailored to your needs.
Good primary care also includes comprehensive diagnostics. As your General Practitioner in Munich, we offer the following examinations as part of our primary care services:
- Ultrasound examination of the abdomen and thyroid
- Long-term ECG
- Stress ECG
- Long-term blood pressure monitoring
- Pulmonary function analysis
- Echocardiography/Cardiac Ultrasound (Private Service)
- Carotid Doppler/Duplex Sonography of Neck Vessels (Private Service)
Blood draws are performed at any time during practice opening hours.
We also care for patients within the framework of DMP programs for asthma, COPD, diabetes, and coronary heart disease/CHD.
As a general practice, we are your first point of contact as a patient and organize all treatment steps. If necessary, we refer you to specialists, maintain an overall view, and coordinate your treatment from start to finish.
If you are unable to visit our practice due to illness, we naturally also make house calls.

Vaccinations – Well Protected
Are your vaccinations up to date? Standard vaccinations include a tetanus booster every 10 years and a one-time pneumonia vaccination for all patients aged 60 and over.
Please bring your vaccination record to our practice for a review. We follow the recommendations of the Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO).
With time, personal commitment, and a wide range of services, your family doctor in Munich competently and trustworthily takes care of your health.

Preventive Check-ups – Early Detection, Early Treatment
Many illnesses begin insidiously and cause no symptoms at first. This means that some serious conditions are only detected late. Early detection screenings can counteract this development. Therefore, your General Practitioner in Munich offers extensive preventive examinations.
Health check-ups covered by statutory health insurance:
- Health prevention/Check-up: once up to age 35, then every 3 years
- Skin cancer screening from age 35
- Men’s cancer screening from age 45
- Colon cancer screening from age 50
- Ultrasound screening for early detection of abdominal aortic aneurysms (men from age 65)

Telephone Sick Leave Certificate Without Practice Visit
General practices can issue sick notes to existing patients for simple illnesses without a practice visit. We send the sick note as an eAU to your health insurance company. Your employer can also retrieve it digitally there. You do not need to come to our practice for this! A certificate of incapacity for work can be issued retroactively for up to three days.
A telephone sick note is possible if
- You are already our patient
- Your card has already been scanned this quarter or you participate in our primary care-centered program (HZV)
- You need a sick note for a maximum of 5 days
- do not require a physical examination due to mild symptoms
Extensions of a sick leave certificate issued during a practice visit are also possible by phone. Please leave a message with our digital telephone assistant; a member of our medical team will contact you on the same day. You do not need to call multiple times; we will call you back. Please remain reachable.
If you have not yet visited our practice this quarter and do not participate in our primary care-centered program (HZV), we kindly ask you to pick up your certificate of incapacity for work in person at one of our locations.
HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis
PrEP is the abbreviation for “Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis,” meaning prevention before potential HIV contact.
With this protection method, HIV-negative individuals take medication to protect themselves from HIV infection. This can be done through daily intake or an event-driven regimen. We are happy to advise you on the correct procedure.
Statutory health insurance companies cover the costs for at-risk patients.
PrEP appointments can be booked with Ms. Melanie Bauer, Dr. Sebastian Schäfer, and Dr. Robert Mutschler. Please schedule your appointment via our online reception and select the appointment type “PrEP Appointment.”
House Call Service – Well Cared For at Home
As your General Practitioner in Munich, we also have specially trained practice assistants authorized to make house calls. In cooperation with our doctors, your medical care in Maxvorstadt and Schwabing can be ensured, even if you cannot come to the practice.
Primary Care-Centered Program – The General Practitioner Program
For all participants in the primary care-centered program (HZV), we are the first point of contact for health concerns. The idea behind the health insurance companies’ general practitioner program is that all important findings converge in one general practice, your treatment is coordinated, and high-quality care is guaranteed. The essential information is summarized in a brochure:
