Primary Care – Trustworthy and Personal
Whether it’s an acute illness or chronic complaints – as family doctor practices, we offer comprehensive care for the entire family. We often care for our patients for many years, getting to know their medical history as well as their social and family environment. This comprehensive care allows us to better assess symptoms and illnesses, enabling us to provide targeted treatment tailored to your needs.
Good primary care also includes comprehensive diagnostics. The following examinations are available in our practices:
- Ultrasound examination of the abdomen and thyroid
- Long-term ECG
- Stress ECG
- Long-term blood pressure monitoring
- Pulmonary function analysis
- Echocardiography/Cardiac Ultrasound (Private Service)
- Carotid Doppler/Duplex Sonography of Neck Vessels (Private Service)
As your family doctor in Munich, we perform blood draws at any time during practice opening hours.
We also care for patients within the framework of DMP programs for asthma, COPD, diabetes, and coronary heart disease/CHD.
As family doctor practices, we are your first point of contact and organize all treatment steps. If necessary, we refer you to specialists, maintain an overall view, and coordinate treatment from start to finish. If you are unable to visit our practice due to illness, we naturally also make house calls.
Telephone Sick Leave Certificate Without Practice Visit
Family doctor practices can issue sick leave certificates to existing patients for simple illnesses without a practice visit. You will receive the sick leave certificate and necessary prescriptions digitally as an e-prescription on your health insurance card (no app needed) and as an eAU. You do not need to come to our practice for this!
A telephone sick leave certificate is possible if you
- are already our patient
- need a sick leave certificate for a maximum of 5 days
- do not require a physical examination due to mild symptoms
Extensions of sick leave determined during a practice visit are also possible by phone.

Our phone lines are excessively busy immediately after the practice opens in the morning, especially on Mondays. Please call a little later to avoid waiting times on the phone. You are also welcome to send us a short email at praxis@haz-schwabing.de with your phone number, symptoms, and the required duration of sick leave, and a member of our medical team will get back to you the same day.
If you have never been to our practice before, we ask you to come to our acute consultation hours. In our practice in Schwabing (Clemensstrasse 129), we offer open consultation hours for acute complaints without an appointment. You can find the consultation hours here.
Preventive Check-ups – Early Detection, Early Treatment
Numerous diseases begin insidiously and cause no symptoms at first. Many serious illnesses are therefore only detected late. Early detection examinations can counteract this development. That is why we offer comprehensive preventive check-ups at your family doctor in Munich at three locations.
Health check-ups covered by statutory health insurance:
- Health prevention/Check-up: once up to age 35, then every 3 years
- Skin cancer screening from age 35
- Men’s cancer screening from age 45
- Colon cancer screening from age 50
- Ultrasound screening for early detection of abdominal aortic aneurysms (men from age 65)
Premium Check-ups
For your extended health prevention, we offer individual premium check-ups for privately insured and self-paying patients, covering the entire spectrum of preventive medicine. The examinations usually take place over two consecutive appointments.
The first appointment includes an initial consultation, blood draw, ECG, pulmonary function measurement, and, if necessary, ultrasound examinations of abdominal organs and the thyroid.
At the second appointment, we check your vaccination status, discuss the results of the first appointment, and conduct a complete physical examination.
If there are indications of high blood pressure or cardiac arrhythmias, we extend the preventive care with a stress ECG, long-term blood pressure monitoring, or a long-term ECG.
If necessary, we also perform an ultrasound of the heart (cardiac echo) and neck vessels (carotid duplex) to obtain a more detailed overview of your heart health.
Upon request, the check-up can also be done on one day, and the discussion of results can take place by phone.

Vaccinations and Travel Medicine – Well Protected
Are your vaccinations up to date? Standard vaccinations include a tetanus booster every 10 years and a one-time pneumonia vaccination for all patients aged 60 and over.
Please bring your vaccination record to our practice for a review. We follow the recommendations of the Standing Committee on Vaccination (STIKO).
Travel Medicine – Return Relaxed and Healthy
Every travel destination requires different precautionary measures. Therefore, before a trip, we at Hausarzt Schwabing are happy to perform a comprehensive check and advise you on potential travel risks. Your current vaccination status should be checked approximately six weeks before departure. However, even for spontaneously planned trips, we optimize your protection. We are happy to advise you on the necessary and recommended vaccinations for your travel destination. We always take your individual health status and the type of planned trip into account.
During the consultation, you will receive an individual vaccination plan, information about the travel destination, and recommendations for your travel first-aid kit. Travel consultation (€35) and travel vaccinations are voluntary services of the health insurance companies, which can be paid for at our practice first and then submitted for reimbursement. The costs are covered by almost all insurance providers. Please inquire with your health insurance company beforehand if necessary.

Infusions – Regeneration and Revitalization
Infusions can make a valuable contribution to restoring or improving your performance. They serve to regenerate and revitalize the entire body. Symptoms such as fatigue or exhaustion can be alleviated by individually tailored infusions. Infusions transport valuable active ingredients directly to the areas of the body where they are needed.
Restorative Treatments – Strengthen Immune System
For vitamin deficiencies, fatigue, and to strengthen the immune system, we also offer restorative treatments at Hausarzt Schwabing. The harmonious combination of high-dose vitamins, herbal active ingredients, trace elements, and other nutrients has a vitalizing and strengthening effect.

Diving Fitness
Our diving fitness examination ensures that there are no medical contraindications for your diving course or diving vacation.
In addition to anamnesis, physical examination – including cardiovascular and pulmonological examination and otoscopy – the diving fitness examination includes an ECG, spirometry with flow/volume curve recording, and pulse oximetry.
For individuals over 40 years of age, a stress ECG must be performed.
The cost of the examination is €90, with a stress ECG €130.

Boating License
If you need the medical certificate for your boating license, we are happy to perform the necessary medical examination: vision test, hearing test, color vision test, and general medical examination. HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis
PrEP is the abbreviation for “Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis,” meaning prevention before potential HIV contact.
With this protection method, HIV-negative individuals take medication to protect themselves from HIV infection. This can be done through daily intake or an event-driven regimen. We are happy to advise you on the correct procedure.
Statutory health insurance companies cover the costs for at-risk patients.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an important pillar of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Its effectiveness for some indications has now been well documented in studies, for example, for back pain, headaches/migraines, or knee problems. The method can also be successfully used for stress and sleep disorders, as well as for asthma/COPD and allergic diseases.
It is important to integrate acupuncture into an overall treatment concept. For this reason, a detailed anamnesis interview takes place at the beginning of the treatment. Depending on the illness, the following forms of acupuncture are then used:
- Classic Acupuncture
- Microsystem Acupuncture (Ear, Head)
- Trigger Point Treatment/Dry Needling

Acupuncture is a self-pay service, billed according to the German Fee Schedule for Physicians (GOÄ). The treatment is usually covered by private insurance companies.
